Rebecca Phyland



Lecturer in Environmental Science at Flinders University


Recently appointed to a position lecturing in environmental management, natural sciences and engineering & society at Flinders University in Adelaide, Rebecca is also working closely with the Australian Science and Mathematics School (ASMS) on STEM Education and Communication projects.
Rebecca has moved equally between the tertiary and school teaching sectors at various stages in her career, educating in the areas of conservation & land management, environmental science and geography.
To ensure best practice informs her teaching, Rebecca also works as a consultant ecologist with a focus on vegetation disturbance and management across NSW, VIC and SA.
She believes that community engagement is central to effective environmental management, and as a result extends her time to volunteer with a number of Not for Profit organisations, including The Pink Heath Project, The Climate Reality Project and the Australian Conservation Foundation.
