Professor Geoff Codd is Emeritus Professor of Microbiology at the University of Dundee in the UK. He is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Stirling, UK, and Adjunct Professor at Flinders University, Australia. He carried out his PhD research in algal biochemistry and physiology at the University of Bradford in England, followed by a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Max Planck Institute in Cologne, Germany. He then moved to Dundee where he has carried out research on photosynthesis and the toxicology of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae), supervising 36 PhD students.
